Odisha Vigilance Discovers Crores Worth of Disproportionate Assets in Raid on Assistant Engineer’s Properties
Bhubaneswar: 04/11/2023(Binaya Kumar Das):- The Odisha Vigilance team recently uncovered significant assets valued in crores of rupees during searches conducted at eight different locations associated with Arjun Kumar Sahoo, who serves as an Assistant Engineer in the Rural Works Sub-Division, Salipur, Cuttack district of Odisha, and his family members.
The Vigilance operation revealed the following assets:
- Two buildings, including a triple-storeyed structure in Bhubaneswar with an estimated worth of approximately Rs 1 crore.
- A single-storeyed building located in Sadanandapur, Derabis, Kendrapara.
- A total of 21 plots, including one in a prime area of Bhubaneswar and others in the Kendrapara district.
- Deposits exceeding Rs 88.26 lakh.
- A substantial cash amounting to Rs 5.45 lakh.
- Three four-wheel vehicles, along with various other assets.
Sahoo was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the acquisition of these properties and cash. The search operation is still ongoing, and the Vigilance Technical Wing is currently measuring and assessing the value of the identified buildings and plots.
